Unlimited winter magic

...A Unique Ski Paradise
Not only the endless vistas and breathtaking scenery, the sunny and wind-protected slopes make the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi a holiday spot par excellence for winter sport enthusiasts of every kind and age. It is a paragon of gentle tourism, and is the preferred venue of winter sport enthusiasts seeking a cozy atmosphere, scenic beauty, and authentic surroundings. But with 60 km of slopes, daredevils and "hot dogs" will likewise find it the perfect place for their exploits, both on the slopes and off. The high-tech aerial lifts and the well-groomed slopes (with all degrees of difficulty, from easy to challenging) connect the entire high-altitude plateau – including the meeting places of the legendary Schlern witches. Snowboarders appreciate the broad downhill slopes and the snowboard park. But the Seiser Alm also has a wide variety of special offers for children (including price discounts, the Ski Fun Park, and hosted activities), and so is very well-suited for families, too. The nearby Marinzen ski area in Kastelruth/Castelrotto offers all the service and assistance for beginners and children to learn to ski in a fun-filled way. And in the evenings, there's nighttime skiing: Gliding down the well-illuminated slope in the darkness of night is an especially exciting experience that no one should miss.
Unlimited Cross-Country Skiing and Hiking
The wintry, snow-covered Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi is a true paradise for cross-country ski enthusiasts and hikers. The seemingly endless wide open spaces, the gently rolling hills, the sunny dells, the forest, and the meadows – and everything against the magnificent backdrop of the towering Dolomites – invite you to explore them, either on cross-country skis or by foot. An extensive network of cross-country courses and winter hiking trails means you have a great variety of possible routes – all of them offering wondrous beauty. Cross-country ski enthusiasts can choose from 60 km of courses of different levels of difficulty. All of the cross-country ski courses have double or quadruple lanes and are prepared for skating. On the other hand, the more than 30 km of winter hiking trails enable hikers to take their time and explore – close up – the beautiful landscapes of the high-altitude plateau. There is a great variety of trails – each with its own, special charm: Some are short and easy, while others take hours and are challenging. That's why the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi is one of Europe's most-beautiful winter hiking regions.
Unlimited Winter Magic
Of course, you can also indulge yourself on the Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi with wonderful ski tours in powder snow or snowshoe expeditions in the pristine landscape – but, of course, only when accompanied by the qualified guides from the ski and mountain-climbing schools. And if you like tobogganing – an especially exhilarating kind of winter fun – we guarantee you won't be disappointed. There are specially prepared snow paths, and the natural tobogganing courses are easy and safe. And finally, there are those visitors who prefer a more-relaxed sort of fun. For them, too, the high-altitude plateau offers a variety of possible activities, including cozy horse-drawn sleighs and a lot of Alpine huts with hearty food where the hosts will do everything in their power to ensure that a good time is had by all.
Stress-Free Arrival
The high-altitude plateau can be reached quickly and conveniently using the Seis/Siusi – Seiser Alm / Alpe di Siusi Panorama Lift. There's a large, free parking lot at the lift's valley station. But we recommend that you dispense with your car and instead the complimentary shuttle bus which arrives at the valley station every fifteen minutes. You're guaranteed stress-free mobility, while at the same time you can help reduce traffic problems and thus also environmental pollution due to noise and exhaust gases. Skiers and snowboarders will do well to use the gondola-type aerial lift in Seis/Siusi to reach the high-altitude slopes – especially insofar as their ski pass entitles them to free passage. Cross-country skiers will likewise appreciate the advantages of using the lift to reach the higher elevations: The lift's mountain station features rooms with lockers and showers where cross-country skiers can clean up and put on a fresh change of dry clothing that they previously stored there. The lift is an equally convenient option for toboggan-riders and hikers to get up to the slopes. On one hand, there are the lockers and depots at the mountain station; on the other hand, by purchasing a "Combi-Card," you are entitled to free use not only of the lift, but of the buses, too, which will take you from Compatsch to Saltria and the best bobsled courses and hiking trails. For those who, for whatever reason, cannot or do not wish to use the aerial lifts, there's the option of using a public bus to reach the higher elevations without a worry. And then the unlimited winter magic can begin!
