Amongst the highlights of the local gastronomy, we find speciality weeks and gourmet days all through the year: The “Völser Kuchlkastl” in Fiè/Völs in October is one of the longest-standing gastronomy weeks in the Dolomite region, and offers traditional dishes prepared with class. The open-air speciality events are also extremely popular, and include the “Berglertafel” Mountaineers’ banquet with a view over the Catinaccio/Rosengarten, the Tabbla Toò feast on the Seiser Alm or the Krausen banquet on the Monte Calvario/Kofel in Castelrotto/Kastelruth.

The gastronomy of South Tyrol amazes with its variety: Alongside the Alpine-Mediterranean blend, the offer also ranges from gourmet cuisine to traditional home cooking. And the restaurants and eateries are as varied as the food itself: The choice is yours: stop off at a rustic Alpine hut or “Buschenschank” wine tavern, or savour the menu of a gourmet restaurant.
