Dolomites skiing at Seiser Alm/Val Gardena ski area : the largest in the Dolomites

A special advantage of the Seiser Alm ski area: “Sci ai piedi” – skiing without ever having to take your skis off. While in other ski areas skiers often have to remove and then put their skis back on before every gondola ride, causing long waits and queues, skiers at Seiser Alm can save valuable time. Here, there are only chairlifts and surface lifts, so – as they say in Italian – the “Sci ai piedi” can stay on. Skis only need to be taken off when stopping for lunch at a mountain hut. Road crossings are cleverly solved with overpasses, allowing a ski day to be enjoyed without annoying interruptions.

In the Seiser Alm ski area, families, teenagers, and young-at-heart adults can enjoy a unique adventure on skis: The Witches' Flight over the Seiser Alm – an interactive escape game along the Seiser Alm Ronda that stretches across the entire ski area. Participants can choose between two difficulty levels and complete the tour in one day or spread it over several days. Equipped with a treasure map, they must collect symbols at seven stations, solve puzzles using an app, and interact with their surroundings to complete the adventure.

Also in winter, the Seiser Alm is an ideal place to explore the breathtaking landscape, especially for mono-skiers. In January 2024, we invited BarrierScout Hans Peter Schraffl to conduct a barrier-free check of the Seiser Alm ski area and he provided us with a positive feedback. Hans Peter Schraffl thoroughly tested the ski area, from the parking lot to the lifts and ski slopes. His final words were: “The Seiser Alm ski area is ideal for monoskiers. From the car park to the lifts, everything is perfectly suitable for wheelchair users. Even without implementing the suggestions for improvement, the ski area can be described as very wheelchair-friendly. The ski area is certainly a leader in South Tyrol.”.
