The free, freely accessible e-bike charging station is located directly at the Tiers Tourist Office.
The charging cabinets, each with 2 sockets and 2 USB sockets, are accessible free of charge. The battery can be stored directly in the charging cabinet or the cable is routed to the bike through an opening in the cabinet door. Batteries for mobile devices such as smartphones can also be charged; the devices are enclosed in lockers for this purpose, in which bicycle helmets and smaller backpacks can also be stored. Only the charging cable needs to be brought along.
In order to use the e-bike charging stations, all that is needed is an RFID card, e.g. SüdtirolPass, hotel card, ATM card, etc. (no card data are read, only the identification number of the chip integrated in the card), which the user swipes at the card reader below the display.
The user then gains immediate access to the charging station and is assigned a charging cabinet and follows the instructions on the display. Once the charger and helmet are stored, the user closes the locker and begins the charging cycle. On returning to the station, the user swipes the same card again on the reader under the display. The user is recognised and the previously used compartment opens again. Again, after removal, the user closes the locker and so it is free again for the next user.
