Project "alma"

Local Cycles in the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm

Ever more frequently, locals and visitors alike want to know where the products they purchase were made. Locally sourced foodstuffs are back in demand, and customers want to know about the people and the places behind the products they purchase. The Dolomites Region Seiser Alm with its diversity of agricultural products and creative gastronomy, holds immense potential to create added value for locals and visitors.

The name alma means nourishing, courageous, hardworking, but also soul. A fitting name for the project, for the people behind it and for the diverse values associated with it.

alma stands for taking an active approach toward shaping our habitat, fostering the creation and appreciation of value, and preserving local traditions.

A Visit to the Pioneers of the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm

Local networks that bring people together!

The event "Visiting Pioneers," organized by IDM South Tyrol in collaboration with Seiser Alm Marketing, clearly demonstrated how strong local value chains can emerge through cooperation. The focus was on local cycles and innovative partnerships between agriculture and gastronomy. Participants gained fascinating insights into three pioneering businesses: Farmer Klemens Villgrattner supplies his grain to the Tratter bakery – the resulting bread can be found, among other places, on the breakfast table at the Hotel Cyprianerhof. At Stampferhof farm, Veronika Stampfer showed how species-appropriate animal husbandry and high-quality meat processing can successfully go hand in hand.
