Guided hike to the Poppekanzel in the Latemar

On the western edge of the Latemar range, this hike leads through wide alpine pastures and scenic slopes. The Poppekanzel rewards hikers with expansive views and a true summit experience.

Tour description:
We start at the bus stop at the Niger Pass junction and hike towards Karer Pass. The trail climbs steadily to the Pra di Tori mountain station and continues on to the Poppekanzel. After a break with beautiful views, we descend to Latmor Alm for a refreshment stop. We then return via the Latemar meadows to Karer Pass and continue back to the bus stop.

Ascent: approx. 600 m
Descent: approx. 600 m
Distance: 8 km
Difficulty: technically moderate hike; good basic fitness and sure-footedness required
Refreshment stop: Latmor Alm

The price includes only the guided hike. Cable car tickets and lunch are not included and must be covered by the participants. It is recommended to take this into account when planning the hike.

* The starting point of the hike can be reached by public bus line 186. The bus departs from Bolzano and continues to Paolina.

• Paolina – arrival at 08:59

Boarding is possible at every bus stop along the route.
The hiking guide will join the group at St. Zyprian bus station. All participants are therefore kindly asked to board the bus independently and to be on time.
