Would you like to quietly observe how spring awakens in the Dolomites – high up in the mountains? Then visit us in the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm and enjoy a restorative break dedicated to nature, tranquillity and slow living. Especially in the holiday villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten, springtime is gentler and calmer than in the peak season – yet they still have plenty to offer.
Spring gradually arrives in the villages, located at 800 to 1,000 metres, from April onwards. Temperatures become noticeably milder and the meadows turn greener day by day. While blossoms already appear in the villages, patches of glistening snow often still remain on the Seiser Alm under the spring sun.
The Seiser Alm/Val Gardena ski area remains open until early April, as spring reaches Europe’s largest high Alpine pasture – situated at 1,800 metres – only towards the end of May. Speaking of late May: this is also when the
Seiser Alm Aerial Cableway reopens. Until then, the Seiser Alm can be easily reached by public transport and by car. A number of huts are already open at this time – and hiking or biking in the blossoming landscape becomes more beautiful every day.
