    A warm welcome to Kastelruth!

Kastelruth is the largest holiday village in the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm and is known for its beautifully painted houses in the historic village centre. This centre is listed among the “Borghi più belli d’Italia”, the most beautiful villages in Italy. In your holiday in Kastelruth, strolling and shopping become a true pleasure. The classicist parish church and the baroque bell tower, which can be visited on guided tours, are also worth seeing. Information & points of interest
The municipality of Kastelruth comprises one main village with eleven hamlets and covers an area with an elevation range of around 2,000 metres. The name “Kastelruth” dates back to the 10th century and probably originates from the Latin "castellum ruptum". A splendid castle is believed to have once stood atop the Kofel hill.
In the historic village centre, buildings such as the Mendelhaus, Edenberg, Landhaus and Wolfwirt captivate visitors with their painted façades created by the local artist Eduard Burgauner. The parish church and the 82-metre bell tower are also well worth a visit.
