How to find us

The Seiser Alm is a protected landscape area, therefore, the access road is open to private traffic only before 09:00am and after 05:00pm. Driving down from Compatsch is possible at any time.

The St. Valentin checkpoint, also called Infopoint, is a staffed cabin along the road to the Seiser Alm. Here you receive information and your parking ticket for P1 (Spitzbühl) or P2 (Compatsch). You must decide in advance which car park you intend to use. If both car parks are full, you will be informed at the checkpoint and required to return to the valley. The current fee is €30.00 per day per vehicle, €15.00 per day for motorcycles, and €160.00 per day for buses.

For the P2 Compatsch parking area, an online advance reservation is required starting from 15 June 2026. Reservations can be made up to six days before arrival. The checkpoint in St. Valentin can only be passed with a valid access permit. A valid parking reservation automatically grants access authorization to the Seiser Alm.

Even with a reserved parking space, the access rules to the Seiser Alm still apply: the road is closed to private traffic between 09:00am and 05:00pm. This means arrival must take place before 09:00am in order to reach the parking areas with your own vehicle. Please plan your journey accordingly and bring your booking confirmation to enjoy your stay on the Seiser Alm.

People with an official European Disability Card may access the Seiser Alm by car at any time up to Compatsch. There are reserved and free parking spaces available there. Prior registration and application for an access permit via the municipal portal www.zufahrt-seiseralm.it is required. If the designated parking spaces are occupied, a paid parking space must be booked. The European Parking Card for people with disabilities must be clearly displayed on the dashboard.

During the off-season periods (mid-April to mid-May and early November to early December), the Seiser Alm cable car remains closed and the road up to Compatsch is open to private traffic all day. In Compatsch, the paid P2 parking area is available: €15.00 for cars and €80.00 for buses.

Author's tip

You can also reach the Seiser Alm quickly and comfortably with the Seiser Alm Cable Car. At the valley station of the cable car, cars and buses can park free of charge in the large open-air parking area. In addition, there are two paid parking garages available.

By the way: if you are not comfortable with heights, you can use the Seiser Alm Express (line 10) instead of the cable car to reach the Seiser Alm.

Parking
A ticket must be taken when entering the car park. Payment must be made before leaving, there are 2 automatic pay machines inside the new car park attendant's hut. Payment can be made by credit card or in cash. Access to the pay machines through a sliding door, currently from 07:30am – 07:00pm in automatic mode, access at night only with a parking ticket. Exit is possible at any time.

From 15 June 2026: The P2 parking area in Compatsch will have two entrance barriers above Hotel Zorzi and two exit barriers – one at the entrance and another at the bus turning area. Entry to the P2 Compatsch parking area is via a barrier where the booking QR code must be scanned. When leaving the parking area, the QR code must be scanned again for exit.

In the Seiser Alm Nature Reserve parking is prohibited from 11:00pm to 5:00am. The entrance barriers are blocked for the duration of the parking ban. The local police carry out conduct checks in this regard and fines are imposed.
Directions

From the villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern and Völs am Schlern, the Seiser Alm can be reached by car in approximately 20 to 25 minutes. A valid parking reservation automatically includes authorization to access the Seiser Alm. Shortly before Compatsch, near Hotel Zorzi, you will find the entrance to the P2 parking area.

The access road is open to private traffic before 09:00am and after 05:00pm.
