As part of Swing on Snow, the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm is transformed into a wintry soundscape. Folk music, brass, soul, pop and jazz blend into an unmistakable festival experience. For 20 years now, this WinterMusicFestival has offered the perfect combination of
winter sports and musical delights.
The concerts are deeply personal and at the same time absolute top-class performances. The artists appearing at the festival are among the most exciting discoveries in their respective genres. Even world-famous bands, usually seen only on major stages, perform here.
In the morning, the first notes sound at the top station of the Seiser Alm gondola lift, at midday music fills the huts of the Seiser Alm. In the evening, concerts take place in the villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten – often so intimate that it feels like a private living-room concert.
Who would have thought that artists such as Herbert Pixner or Opas Diandl had their first performances at “Swing on Snow” on the Seiser Alm long before their big breakthroughs? Equally fascinating: the band “Federspiel” recorded their first album at Hotel Rose-Wenzer in Völs am Schlern – a festival story that still resonates today.
For the 20th anniversary, you can look forward to a “Best of” from two decades, with musical highlights and artists who have shaped the unmistakable character of “Swing on Snow”. The highlight of the anniversary edition: the concert by the band “Federspiel” at Castle Prösels on 18.03.2026.
Attendance at the concerts is free of charge, and there are no seat reservations.
