Plenty of snow & sunshine

Winter holidays in the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm

Thanks to its altitude, the Seiser Alm is among the most snow-sure areas in South Tyrol – ideal conditions for an unforgettable time on Europe’s largest high Alpine pasture. Winter fans of all ages will find their own slice of heaven here, whatever their favourite sport. The Seiser Alm/Val Gardena ski area, with 181 km of slopes, delights skiers and snowboarders from near and far. The extensive cross-country network, toboggan runs, winter hiking trails and snowshoe tours add to the pure winter happiness – all framed by the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage.

After time spent outdoors in the snow, people gather in family-run huts and Alpine farms to warm up and enjoy delicious recipes together. Many huts are located right by the slopes and are easy to reach on skis, via ropeway systems, on foot, by toboggan or even by horse-drawn sleigh.

The charming holiday villages of Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten also have plenty to offer in winter. Alongside enjoyable winter walks and various ice rinks, numerous events take place and ensure great entertainment.

A ski area for winter fans of all ages
Off to the Seiser Alm/Val Gardena ski area!
In the winter season, the Seiser Alm/Val Gardena ski area is scheduled to open from 5th December 2025 until 7th April 2026 and combines two connected areas. The snow-sure Seiser Alm, with sunny, wide slopes, is ideal for hobby skiers and families. Thanks to connecting runs and a network of gondolas and chairlifts, all slopes link seamlessly – you rarely need to take your skis off. Val Gardena, with its more demanding runs, is especially popular with experienced skiers.
