In winter, the Völser Weiher/Lake Völs in the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park transforms into a sparkling natural ice rink, framed by the majestic Schlern rising in the background. Ice skaters glide across the frozen lake, hockey fans hone their skills, and figure skaters impress with graceful pirouettes. To warm up, you can visit one of the nearby inns or the bathing hut on the Völser Weiher, where you will also find a skate rental and a bar.
There are also ice rinks with skate rental in Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten, especially during the Christmas season when the festive markets are open – and some even longer.
