When the scent of cinnamon, gingerbread and mulled wine fills the air, it is Advent at the foot of the Schlern. The Christmas markets in the idyllic holiday villages of Kastelruth, Völs am Schlern and Tiers am Rosengarten may be small, but they are exceptionally charming and atmospheric.
They offer a wonderfully peaceful alternative to the large, often hectic markets in South Tyrol’s cities. At these smaller Christmas markets, locals and visitors alike enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. They admire traditional craftsmanship, enjoy South Tyrolean delicacies and listen to festive music. The cosy, family-like atmosphere will also bring you peaceful moments, you’ll see!

Kastelruth Mountain Christmas

29.11. – 28.12.2025 | 14.00 – 19.00 Uhr
The historical village centre provides the backdrop for numerous stalls offering gifts, handicrafts, nativity figures, South Tyrolean products and more. With mulled wine, biscuits and Kastelruth Krapfen, you can enjoy the Christmas music, watch the lively scene and spend a peaceful time. Meanwhile, children can craft and play. There is also a small ice rink on the village square beside the church. The festive Advent music performed by brass groups, choirs and singers, along with the glow of candles and lanterns, creates a very special atmosphere. The annual Christmas concert of the Kastelruther Spatzen is also part of the programme.

The Völs Christmas market is tranquil, cosy and romantic. It shortens the wait for Christmas and brings visitors light and warmth on dark winter days. On the Church square of Völs am Schlern, a majestic Christmas tree stands each year, with atmospheric lighting all around. The rustic wooden huts on the square are a popular meeting place for locals and visitors from near and far. Lovingly crafted local handicrafts, warming mulled wine, treats from the bakery and the special music programme create a strong sense of togetherness for everyone.

Mountain winter Christmas market

On the village square of Tiers am Rosengarten, a charming small winter market takes place, where you can discover many regional products and traditional South Tyrolean specialities. There are various local delights and warm winter drinks that invite you to linger, while the atmospheric Christmas tunes of the accordion fill the air. At the stalls, you will find lovingly crafted gift ideas and handmade items – the perfect Christmas presents for your loved ones. At the “Bergler Advent” in Tiers am Rosengarten, both young and old enjoy the cosy, authentic atmosphere of this mountaineering village.

Atmospheric Christmas season in Seis am Schlern

Seis am Schlern also prepares for a magical Advent and Christmas season. In addition to the ice rink and the small mulled-wine stand, an exciting programme awaits: fascinating magic and fire shows, great live bands, contemplative Advent concerts and atmospheric Christmas stories provide a varied festive season.
