Farm Experience

An Unforgettable Day Out for the Whole Family

During a family holiday in the Dolomites Region Seiser Alm, the whole family embarks on an adventure tour from farm to farm. You can meet the farm animals and experience up close what life on a horse farm looks like, how sheep’s wool is processed, how fresh milk becomes fine cheese and how flour is turned into crispy bread.

The family program is offered only in German and Italian.

You can obtain further details about the events from the tourist offices in Kastelruth, Seis am Schlern, Völs am Schlern, Seiser Alm and Tiers am Rosengarten.

Farm Experience: from horse to saddle
In the saddle on horseback

At the Unterlanzin riding farm, children aged 6 and up, together with an accompanying adult, can dive into everyday life on a horse farm. They learn how a horse’s hooves are shod and which horse breeds and riding styles exist. They can also groom and brush the horses – and afterwards ride a few guided laps in the riding arena. As a souvenir, each child receives a horseshoe as a good-luck charm.

Farm experience: Meeting the animals at a farm
Rabbits, goats, ponies & co.

Many of the animals at Lafogl Farm are rescued animals: guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, goats, sheep, horses, and ponies.
During a guided tour of the farm, children aged 6 and up, together with an accompanying adult get to know the animals and visit the goats and horses in the pasture. Afterwards, we can groom the ponies and enjoy a peaceful walk with them in nature. We learn to understand their rhythm, lead them mindfully, and enjoy the time spent together.

All about sheep

At the Gunzhof in Kastelruth, children aged 6 and up can visit the sheep in the barn with an accompanying adult, pet them and, with a bit of luck, even watch them being sheared.
